ACRYLIC ROOF RESTORATION COATINGS

ACRYLIC ROOF COATINGS

Acrylic coatings are very common in the roofing market today because of their cost-effectiveness. Water-based acrylic roof coatings are both easy to use and environmentally friendly. Acrylic coatings are most often used for reflectivity, and they are designed to keep roof tops cool. The net effect is reduced energy costs as well as protecting the roof surface from UV exposure.
Acrylic coatings are also typically very "elastomeric," allowing for fluctuations in temperature without affecting the actual coating. However, they typically do not have a high tensile strength, and this can affect the coating's ability to resist wear and tear, making the coating more susceptible to deterioration from ponding water. In general, acrylic coatings help reduce cooling costs at a more economical value, while at the same time increasing the service life of your roof surface by protecting it from UV exposure.

ACRYLIC ADVANTAGES

• Economical solution for a cool roof
• Easy to apply with rapid dry times
• UV stable
• Acrylics can be reinforced with polyester fabric for greater tear resistance when a
roof expands and contracts in the sun
• If no fabric is needed Acrylics are very economical as a Reflectivity Coat
• Proven track record in harsh conditions over many years
• Acrylics can be used on asphalt or metal roofs, and can be made to look as if
  they're really asphalt or metal
• Aesthetics - Acrylic coatings can come in multiple colors to complement a
  buildings architecture
